NYC-based Publication Plants 10 Trees for Each Eco-themed Submission

June 22nd, 2008 by emjay

Turns out you can help plant a forest without leaving your computer or sending a check to anyone. A few New Yorkers wanted to provide web surfers and bloggers with the opportunity to turn their hobby into eco-action.

My “It” Things.com is a trend and social networking site that recently paired with Trees For The Future for their first green initiative.

The premise is super simple. Submit a blog post or article with an eco theme. Could be about organic products, conservation tips, sustainable companies, or environmental issues. Once you click “publish,” you can smile knowing that your contribution to the site will put ten trees in the ground in a developing forest.

Additionally, the highest-rated article wins $1,000.
