Kids Going Green with Litter Free Lunches
August 21st, 2008 by litterfreelunchLooking for a quick and easy way to reduce waste created by pack lunches?
www.litterfreelunch.com offers sets of cloth napkins in fun packs of 5 for kids. The 12”x12” napkins are handcrafted in the USA, affordable and come in many styles and colors. Litterfreelunch.com also gives additional tips for reducing lunchtime waste as well as encourages eco-minded families to share their methods.
It has been estimated that a school-age child using a disposable lunch generates 67 pounds of waste per school year*. By making simple changes to how and what you pack in your children’s lunches can help to reduce lunchtime waste. Minimize the amount of litter generated at lunchtime by packing reusable items such as cloth napkins instead of paper napkins.
Litterfreelunch.com was created by two Naperville, IL moms who were looking for solutions to reduce waste in their homes and at their children’s school. Litter Free Lunch LLC is built on the philosophy that educating children about the environment and engaging them to become more eco-conscious will encourage further thinking about ways to reduce, reuse and recycle throughout their lives.
Make it a litter free day!
