These guys are really giving new meaning to the phrase “straight-outta Brooklyn!”
Brooklyn Farm Table not only builds extremely tasteful furniture, they do so using century-old wood that has been rescued from buildings in the five boroughs!
Ralph Gorham, founder of Brooklyn Farm Table initially used common and exotic woods to fabricate his tables, but as the construction boom exploded in New York City he noticed beautiful old wood that was being exposed for the first time. Ralph decided to preserve these grand old buildings by reclaiming their backbones, the aged beautiful wood, which ranges from Douglas Fir to long-leaf Heart Pine.
Check out some of their work:
Pretty gorgeous stuff, right?! There are more samples on their website.
Contact Ralph at Brooklyn Farm Table for more information or to discuss creating your own piece… of Brooklyn!
You can welcome them to their new digs in Red Hook by going to 284 Van Brunt Street. Take the B61 MTA Bus.
