Ban The BagWe, as a society, use an ASTRONOMICAL number of plastic bags. Join our growing movement to ban plastic bags and instead use re-usable bags made from sustainable materials like organically-grown cotton or hemp.

Actions You Can Take

  • Use re-usable bags when you go shopping
  • Write to your elected officials
  • Ban The Bag

  • Go to your local supermarket and ask them to promote re-usable bags
  • Write to — or help — community organizations to encourage them to support a ban on plastic bags.

Plastic Bag Bans in the News

  • Malibu passes plastic bag ban (The Malibu Times)

    Students of Malibu High School’s Environmental Club and the Malibu Boys and Girls Club’s “Green Teens” group spelled out RETHIaNK to send a message to the Malibu council about banning plastic bags.

    WESTPORT - A few Representative Town Meeting members are attempting to succeed where the state recently failed by passing a law that would ban retail stores from giving out plastic shopping bags.
